Become an

ISME Member!

Anyone with an interest in Microbial Ecology can become an ISME member. When you join the ISME Community you can connect with microbial ecologists from around the world. ISME members receive e.g. a discount on the ISME symposium registration, the opportunity to apply for grants and funding, and a reduced APC for the ISME Publications.

Membership fees

Regular Society Member	€ 75
Student Society Member	€ 50
Emeritus Society Member	€ 50

Once paid, memberships are valid for two years, starting from the day you sign up. Paid membership renewals extend your membership by two years.

Accepted Payments
Visa, MasterCard, PayPal, or bank transfer.

Due to the large amount of international payments, we cannot automatically renew your membership and charge your credit card or bank account.

Cancellations of memberships are possible but no refund will be provided.

Student membership
To be eligible to register for this category, you need to be enrolled as a Bachelor's or Master's student, or a PhD candidate. When paying for the membership, you will be required to upload official proof of enrollment for the current academic year. Please fill out the form below, and upload it during member registration.

Emeritus membership
To be eligible to register for this category, you need to be retired from and no longer working in the academic field. When paying for the membership, you will be required to upload official proof of retirement. Please fill out the form below, and upload it during member registration.

Developing countries
If your country of employment is listed here as a low income economy or lower-middle income economy, you will automatically receive a € 25 discount on your regular society membership fee.
If you are employed by an institution in a upper-middle income economy or high income economy, no discount will be given.
