Theoretical microbial ecology

This session will focus on how theory and models are developed to answer key questions on the organization of microbiomes across scales of organization, from populations to ecosystems and from local interactions to planetary scales.

Common points to address:

• How do you validate/test your models?
• How do your models dialogue with smaller and larger scales of organization? Can you identify a mechanism/process/principle that your model can introduce that belongs to the immediate inferior/superior scale of organization?’
