Abstract submission is now closed, and all submitted abstracts are under review.
Late abstracts are still accepted, but only for the consideration of poster presentations. This submission is separate from the first round of abstract submission, and will therefore only be reviewed after the deadline of 12 April.
To submit your late abstract:
Please visit the ISME20 home page to submit your abstract. Ensure you are logged in to the website first, otherwise, you cannot submit your abstract.

Microbial ecologists interested in presenting their latest research at ISME20, through an oral presentation, short talk, or poster presentation, are invited to submit an abstract for review by the Scientific Programme Committee.
Authors are required to follow the abstract submission guidelines carefully. Abstracts that do not comply with these instructions will not be reviewed or considered for presentation.
Summary of the Abstract Submission Guidelines
- All abstracts must be in English
- The abstract word limit is 250 words
- The abstract title character limit is 150 characters
- Abstract structure should include background and aims, methods, results and conclusion
- Maximum 2 abstracts per submitter
- ISME has two types of grants available for ISME20. Applications for the ISME Travel Grant or ISME Primary Caregiver Grant can be submitted during abstract submission by uploading their applications. It is only possible to apply for one of the ISME grants.
