In the week leading up to ISME20, the 26th instalment of the international meeting of the Genomic Standards Consortium (GSC26) will take place in Rotorua, New Zealand, from 12–14 August 2026.
The Genomic Standards Consortium (GSC) maintains the MIxS Standards (Minimum Information about [x] Sequence) that define the minimum metadata held alongside genomic data in global repositories. To meet the contemporary needs of the genomics research community, the GSC wants input from individuals and groups with expertise in Indigenous metadata, Indigenous data governance, legislative and permitting contexts, as well as those who are motivated to host their own national or sub-national genomic data repositories.
Make the most of your trip to New Zealand by attending both ISME20 and GSC26.
